How to Wash Your Face to Treat Acne

Posted in Acne Articles on Dec 01, 2009

Washing your face is important and there is a special three step process for washing your face every day. Lets look at hte process in detail and this should hopefully help you reduce the acne that you suffer from.

In the morning, whether you are showering or not it is important to wash with a nice clean soap. Do not use any kind of harsh soap like one made with smelly stuff or dyes. Best kind of soap to get is either hibitane which is an antibacterial soap or glycerine soap which is another very easy on your skin kind of soap with no impurities.

When you wash your face wash it well and lightly. Do not scrub hard as this will stretch and irritate the skin and rince with warm water with an after splash of colder water. When wiping your face off afterwards just pat dry do not ever rub your face dry as it will hurt your skin and cause your face to produce more oil as a bit of protection.

At lunchtime depending on how oily your skin is you can either just rince your face with cool (not cold) water ofr again use soap. I would hope that you can get away with not using any soap at noon as this can cause your skin to dry out and this may cause irritation as well.

In the late afternoon or before dinner, again wash your face. And again later in the evening before you go to bed. This means that you will be washing your face four times a day and perhaps two or three of these times will be with soap. This is something that you will need to gauge for yourself as the water will clean your skin so you may not always need to use soap but of course soap is going to give you a much cleaner set of pores on your face and stop most breakouts from occurring due to greasy, oily skin.

So in summary, one of the best things that you can do to keep your acne at bay is to wash your face. Wash your face four times a day and use soup two to three times a day. Although washing your face is not the only way to keep you from getting acne it is one of the very best things that you can do for your skin.
